One reason would be that if the government wanted President Kennedy killed they would have found an expert and Ozwald was not an expert and was very unexperienced. I think that Ozwald may have had one or two friends working with him, which would explain the several shots. Although i think his friends were not involved with the government and the government had no knowledge of the assasination.colleenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10651533092937876152noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2497067463682088787.post-76616481764217745642009-02-09T13:20:00.000-08:002009-02-09T13:40:51.936-08:00the butter battle book compare/contrastDr. Seuss' "The Butter Battle Book" is very comparable and similar to events during the Cold War. In the butter book the two sides dont like eachother because one side butters their bread butterside up and the other side butters their bread butter side down. The idea of hating eachother over the side of buttered bread can be compared to the sides during the cold war hating eachother because pf support for communism or not. A major comparison between the cold war and the book is the idea of an arms race during the cold war. An arm race is when the countries tried to out-do the other country with machinary and weapontry. In the book each side does the same thing, they keep making bigger and better weapons until the weapons are just crazy amazing. Both the war and the book also end in a stalemate.colleenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10651533092937876152noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2497067463682088787.post-76430282714811525672009-02-03T13:12:00.000-08:002009-02-03T15:06:53.323-08:00George F. kennanKennan belives that the United States is clearly a more dominant nation over the Soviet Union. Also he mentions that the Soviet Union is "a rival, not a partener". Politically the United States and the soviet Union are enemies. Also, although the Soviet Union is weak the United States can not eliminate or stop communism alone. He belives that the United States have the power to make the spread of communism very difficult, because they are such a strong nation, but they can not stop the spread alone.colleenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10651533092937876152noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2497067463682088787.post-17071820146701082682009-01-13T13:01:00.000-08:002009-01-13T13:11:41.223-08:00reaction to movieI think that it must have been a very hard desison for Truman to bomb the Japanese citizens. But he also must have thought it was effecitive and would help lead to the Japanese surrender because he bombed them a second time. I am not sure if i agree with these methods because i think it is unfair to the Japanese citezens because they are not apart of the war and he JApanese soliders should be the ones who are hurt. As a result of the bmbing alot of Japanesecitizen died slow pain deaths or imediate deth, both which were unnessary.colleenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10651533092937876152noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2497067463682088787.post-71677908030543417472009-01-06T07:53:00.000-08:002009-01-06T07:57:26.735-08:00Question #6 on pg. 831I imagine that life during World WarII was very difficult and scary. People had to go to bed not knowing if they would wake up in the morning or if their homes would be bombed. Today our only worries are things we have to get done and such, but we never have to worry about being attacked because we feel safe and protected.colleenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10651533092937876152noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2497067463682088787.post-19123353165057939882008-12-07T07:22:00.000-08:002008-12-07T07:31:16.895-08:00I think it is good that Obama has exact plans made out already, but having plans is differnt from FDR. That is because FDR said he was going to have "A New Deal" but did not actually have specific plans made out to end the depression. That idea seemed to work for FDR but i think in today's society it is better that Obama has exact plans but if he is not willing to alter them depending on what happens after they begin then we could have alot of problems. This is because since FDR never really had specific plans he could kind of go with the flow and make reforms and programs as he saw fit.colleenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10651533092937876152noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2497067463682088787.post-8612120783475800092008-11-30T16:25:00.000-08:002008-11-30T16:38:27.477-08:00the great depression 2009After reading "the coming great depression 2008/2009" I learned alot about the great depression in the 1920s and why some people think that American is falling into another great depression now. Some of the causes of the depression in 1920s were unequal distribution of wealth and the poor stock market. Today in America the stock market has had many problems which is the main reason why people think there will be another depression. I do not think there will be another depression because i think the country is prepared and now knows how to deal with an ecomonic crisis...or at least i hope so.colleenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10651533092937876152noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2497067463682088787.post-82987554713839026912008-10-22T18:30:00.000-07:002008-10-22T18:38:55.759-07:00Civil LibertiesIn times of war I think people should be willing to give up certain Civil Liberties but defiantly not all. This is because certain civil liberties such as freedom of speech or religion, is not going to affect the war that is going on. Whether or not people are talking freely or practicing the religion of their choice does not change the nation to be better or worse. Yet certain freedoms such as freedom of assembly without permission from the government should be limited. This is because if large groups of riots against the war formed then there would be a problem and it would provoke negative outlook on the war and the Americans.colleenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10651533092937876152noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2497067463682088787.post-19787926682502281422008-10-13T13:33:00.000-07:002008-10-13T13:47:00.744-07:00Archduke Assainated!Three days ago, after multiple attempts made by nineteen year old Gavriol Princip succeeded in the assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand. Princip eventually killed the Archduke with a second shot of a gun which killed the Archduke instantly. The first shot of the gun hit and killed the Archduke’s wife, Sofia. Previously in the day another assassination attempt was made. A bomb was thrown at the Archduke’s car but instead of causing the car to explode it bounced off and as a result injured two of the Archduke’s guards. Because he cared so much about his officers, the Archduke went to see how they were in the hospital and sadly never returned. It was later discovered that the assassin, Gavriol Princip was a member of The Black Hand, a Serbian terrorist group.
As a result of this tragedy many countries have had uprisings. Tension and hostility have been building in Europe because of this assassination and it is now very clear that this will be the start of something much bigger to come.colleenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10651533092937876152noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2497067463682088787.post-38656057080002117822008-09-21T19:20:00.000-07:002008-09-23T10:50:36.185-07:00walt disney quote"Laughter is America's most important export."
Walt Disney

I really like this quote but i dont really know how to describe why i like it so much. Well three years ago the Cubans decided enough was enough and they wanted to become free from the harsh rule of Spain. They had strongly demanded for freedom and the right to self- govern themselves, Spanish have refused to fulfill that request. More than just refusing to allow them to become free the Spanish have taken a drastic step by putting thousands of Cubans in prison camps, which was practically putting them to their death because so many die of starvation and disease.
Until recently this problem has not had much influence over us as Americans, but just a short time ago that changed. Our American businessmen have become fearful about their investments which they had previously made in sugar and tobacco plantations in Cuba. They feared they may lose money. As a result of this President McKinley had ordered the “Maine” (U.S. battleship) to Cuba, in order to protect us, the Americans property and even lives! Less than a month after the battleship got to the Cuban port, 260 men were killed in the explosion of it!!
As a result of what seemed to be an act of the Spanish congress declared war on Spain yesterday April 25, 1898.colleenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10651533092937876152noreply@blogger.com1
